Barbiere di Siviglia alla Scala

In September Lorenza has been working alongside director Leo Muscato in Teatro alla Scala’s new production of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, conductor Riccardo Chailly, with Mattia Olivieri, Svetlina Stoyanova, Marco Filippo Romano, Maxim Mironov and Nicola Ulivieri. Scenery by Federica Parolini e costumes by Silvia Aymonino. Performances until October 15th.

Brecht and Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins & Mahagonny Songs at La Scala

During March 2021 Lorenza has been working alongside Stage Director Irina Brook on a new La Scala production of Bertold Brecht’s and Kurt Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins and Mahogony Songs for RAI Italian National Television. Conductor Riccardo Chailly, cast: kate Lindsey, Lauren Michelle, Elliott Charlton Hines, Andrew Harris, Matthaus Schmidlechner, Michael Smallwood Martin Chishimba and Matteo Gavazzi

Così fan tutte alla Scala

Lorenza has revived Michael Hampe’s production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte at La Scala for RAI television and internet streaming with Eleonora Buratto, Emily d’Angelo, Federica Guida, Alessio Arduini, Bogdan Volkov, Pietro Spagnoli and Giovanni Antonini, conductor.

Babar the Little Elephant

In a third production in internet streaming for children, during the Covid-19 limitations, Lorenza has directed Francis Poulenc’s “The Story of Babar the Little Elephant” at La Scala, with conductor Eun Sun Kim and Angela Finocchiaro, narrator. Cartoon animations by Riccardo Sgaramella.

Carnival of the Animals at La Scala

In a second production in internet streaming for children, during the Covid-19 limitations, Lorenza has directed Saint Saens’s “Carnival of the Animals” at La Scala, with conductor Eun Sun Kim and Gioele Dix, narrator.

Peter and the Wolf at La Scala

With the closure of Teatro alla Scala for Covid-19 continuing, Lorenza has directed Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” at La Scala for streaming in Internet, with conductor Eun Sun Kim, Giovanni Storti & Giacomo Poretti, narrators, Angelo Lodi, instant painter and the La Scala Orchestra.

A riveder le stelle…

Lorenza has collaborated with Davide Livermore in producing “A riveder le stelle”, the International Television broadcast produced by Teatro alla Scala in place of the traditional season’s opening on the 7th of December

Aida at La Scala

Lorenza has done a semi staging of Aida at La Scala with conducted by Riccardo Chailly with Saioa Hernandez, Francesco Meli, Anita Rachvelishvili ana Jongmin Park:

For the last evening tenor Johannes Kaufmann stepped in to substitute Francesco Meli, in quarantene. In the end, because of other quarantines, the evening became a gala concert with excerpts from Aida, La Bohème, Gianni Schicchi and Nabucco.

Swiss Television Documentary

The RSTI program Paganini has produced a documentary on Lorenza’s revival of her La Scala staging of Britten’s “The Little Sweep” at the LAC centre in Lugano:

La Traviata alla Scala

In her first engagement after the Covid-19 crisis Lorenza has semi-staged Verdi’s La Traviata at Teatro alla Scala, Marina Rebeka soprano, Atalla Ayan, Leo Nucci Baritone and Zubin Metha conductor.
